YENZA Make it!

"Celebrating self made objects from south African self made homes"

Yenza is a collaboration of 4 friends who got together to try to do something special, celebrating South African design during the course of World Design Capital 2014. Yenza group chose to showcase township design, celebrating domestic innovations and styling in Capetonian townships.

Over the course of 8 months, the Yenza group started visiting Imizamo Yethu and Khayelitsha in order to source domestic objects that have been made specifically for living in shacks. The project culminated in a major exhibition of items at Design Indaba 2014.
